Reunited

...and it feels so good. ♫♫

(Ah, never mind. Haha!)

Sometimes when my high school friends and I already miss each other’s faces, we easily just look for an alibi so we can meet up. However, I know for a fact that we’d still hang out with or without a reason.J
From L-R: Dawn, Leomel, Alexa, Oliver, Julie, Krizia, Faith, Hibek, Bernard, yours truly, and Ceff! :)
So what was it this time?

Last Saturday (May 25), we gathered at RSM Lutong Bahay Restaurant to have dinner and welcome back Dawn. She is our close friend who’s already based in Singapore. She’s on vacation here in the Philippines right now, and we’re so happy to be reunited with her again!J
Hi there, Dawn and Faith!
We weren't able to spend more time chatting and bonding; no thanks to everyone’s hectic schedule (except mine. harhar!), the Saturday traffic madness (you can only imagine!) and the uncooperative rainy/bitchy weather. Phew! Haha! Too bad. Nevertheless, we still managed to make every minute of the night count. We did nonstop catching up and pigging out while jamming and vibing to the reggae version of new and old songs playing in the background. Rampapapam ♫ rampapapam ♫ yayayayay ♫ up down ♫ up down! Hahaha!
That was also the night Bernard’s name became Fern! So girly, right? Bwahaha! If you knew Nard and his manliness, you’d understand how so unfitting this nickname was for him and why we died laughing at this. Haha! The band performer heard his name wrong and thought it was Fernando. Haha! Supahh funneh! Instead of correcting the performer, we just went along calling Nard Fernando, Fernan, Fernie until we settled with Fern! Fern FTW!
Bernard a.k.a Fern with his beloved Krizia. Haha!
It was a fun night with them just like always.J

To Dawn, thank you for the time. We’ll see you again soon. Have a safe trip back to SG.J

Good times! xoxo

*Thanks to Ceffrey and Faith for the photos!

Comedyville

These past few weeks I always find myself having spasms due to laughing too much. Do I feel bad about this? Heck, no! Why? Because a good laugh is always necessary to survive the day.J

Anyways, I’m sharing with you the reasons why I’ve been LMAO-ing/ LOL-ing/ ROTFL-ing/ LMHO-ing lately (and why I still don’t have a decent life right now) (HAHAHA):

HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER

HIMYM is about Ted’s (Josh Radnor) never ending quest to find the girl he’s destined to be with for life. He doesn’t have to do this alone because his funny friends, Marshall (Jason Segel), Lily (Alyson Hannigan), Robin (Cobie Smulders), and Barney (Neil Patrick Harris), are there to help him. How I Met Your Mother because the series began with the future Ted (voiced by Bob Saget) of year 2030 recounting his journey of finding this girl to his son and daughter.
My golly! I’m so in love with this series! I knew it was gonna be a fave the moment I saw its first five minutes. No kidding. I love that it’s about love and FRIENDSHIP.J Okay, so I don’t know what else to say about it. Not because I don’t like it that much, but because I don’t think my words can fully describe how awesome and funny HIMYM really is. Haha! Sarreh! Pahaha!

While watching, you start to remember your own bunch of crazy friends and the things you do with them. Then you start matching the characters with them friends of yours. Who’s the Ted of the group? The Marshall? The Lily? Do you have a Scherbatsky? A Barney? Wait, is it just me? Am I the only one doing this? Weird. Hahaha!
I have a bit of crush on Ted. He’s such a cutie and a goody-goody type of guy. He looks so harmless, which is the exact opposite of Barney. Haha! But that doesn’t mean I hate Barney. In fact, I am in love with him. His personality screams AAAAAWESSSOOOOOME from head to toe. Gotta admire his confidence, or should I say overconfidence? Hahaha!

I have to admit that I’m still stuck on its 6th season. I know, I’m such a loser. Haha! So what if I’m a late bloomer? That’s all right ‘coz I’m in no hurry. Haha!

NEW GIRL

After breaking up with her longtime boyfriend, Jess (Zooey Deschanel) moves into a new loft where she finds herself living with three equally bizarre guys - Nick (Jake Johnson), Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Winston (Lamorne Morris). These roommates, along with Cece (Hannah Simone), Jess’s bestfriend, establish a friendship that keeps on getting tighter as they all face life together.
What I so like about New Girl is it actually shows the viewers how it’s like when you put a girl in the world of guys - lots of clashes and differences (you know, all those opposite sex conflicts), which are interpreted in a comical way. But once they start to understand each other, well, that’s when it becomes really fascinating.J

I so love Jess’s character! She can be so weird and so out of this world without being annoying. She can do crazy, offbeat stuff and still look cute. Wish all girls could be like her. Hahaha! And Schmidt! Oh my, Schmidt! Hahaha! He’s my second favorite character, next to Jess. He’s so vain and OC that I sometimes wonder whether he’s gay or not. Hahaha!
Every time I watch other series, drama or action, I always want to be up to date with the episodes. So if I am still so many seasons or eps. away, I'm gonna force myself to watch tens of eps. at once until my eyes start bleeding. (Okay, that’s OA, but you get the point. Haha!) But with HIMYM and New Girl, I can just lie back, get some popcorn (with matching Coke) and take it easy. No need to rush the shows. They’re actually more enjoyable and relaxing that way because I can savor each episode.J
These two sitcoms are so light and fun to watch.J Every night before I go to bed, I’d watch two or three (or five or 10!) eps. just to make sure I’d have a good night’s sleep. Even bad days can be turned into good ones with only 20 mins. of nonstop hilarity and silliness from these guys! True story!

Friends, I suggest you also give these two a try. I’m more than sure you’ll love them too!J Watch and you’ll know where I’m getting these spasms from!

Welcome to the Christian world, Stephen Rob!

I wasn’t really planning on doing a post about this get-together, but it had been so much fun I knew I had to write a little something about it.J

Just a few cryptic words to remind us all of the many stuff we talked and laughed about at Ipe’s whole-day Baptism celebration. Haha! Some, nope, MOST of these things have to be kept just between us friends, because we do not wish to get in trouble. AND we do not want people to think we’re some psycho-pervs. (We wholesome, yannaw!) Haha!

Photo blast!
Prudente family. :)
Yvonne shows off her creative side Abakom style! :)
Cute giveaways!

Happy Christening, Ipe!

I pray that you be a responsible follower (Unlike me. Harhar!) of our dear Lord and that you be blessed more.

I hope to be a good godmother to you. Never hesitate to come to me, us, when you need anything.J
It. had. been. Fun. Fun. Fun.

DECEPTION POINT by DAN BROWN

Another Dan Brown brainchild in the house, baby!J

Plenty of campaigns had been lost by candidates who went for the knockout when all they needed was to finish the round.

All Americans are now in heat as the Presidential elections get nearer and nearer. Senator Sedgewick Sexton runs against re-electionist incumbent President Zach Herney. The national leader finds out that NASA finally had luck in the newly discovered meteorite which is believed to be inhabited by living fossils. Given the great opportunities this advancement could bring, it would help NASA prove their worth again, which in turn would help Herney’s candidacy. Rachel Sexton, daughter of Sedgewick, learns that everything about the breakthrough is a fraud. They are even more shocked to know who are behind the fabrication.
We should either do it right –or not at all. – Marjorie Tench

This book is way better than Digital Fortress!J To those whose first Dan Brown book ever read is Digital Fortress (like me!), don’t judge him right away. It isn’t among his best works. Haha!

I like how Dan Brown played with his characters here. I think he really was able to make the most out of everybody’s role. "Who they are" made a great impact on "what they do." And an even greater impact in the big reveal at the end.J

What’s cool about Deception Point is its ability to implant an idea in your head unconsciously. It can make you believe that this certain person is responsible for whatever is happening, then you realize that that person isn’t the one to blame. And in the end, things are not really how they look like. Sounds cool, yeah? Haha!

Heck, there were just so many twists in the story! The turn of events would make you wanna say WOAH like many, many times. For instance, just when Sexton thought he was already winning, he’d realize Herney’s got an ace. Then and again, something crazy would happen that’d change their ranks in the polls. Something would happen again, and things turn upside down again. There’s no way of knowing until you get to the end of the book. Haha!

The bigger the foe, the harder they fall.

I don’t know if all of Dan Brown’s information here is accurate, but I’m impressed by how he can write something like this. Deception Point, along with his other creations, is just too technical. I bet a lot of research is needed to make it look somehow realistic and believable. Good thing it still is understandable to readers who don’t know much (like me! haha!), and still is interesting and intriguing enough.

I’m satisfied with the ending of this novel. How things went for everybody was just how it was supposed to be. It was the ideal conclusion to the story.

I like this book because it’s an easy read but it doesn’t lack the thrill. Nice! Dan Brown is really good at what he does. Hoping to read more of his books in the future.J

Somebody please lend me a book? Hahaha!

The grandest of plans could be undone by the smallest of snags.
