cool desperation in prayer. haha!

before our final defense last september 10, 2011, we prayed hard. actually, it was part of our novena. but sadly, we weren't able to complete the nine-day prayer 'cause we barely got the chance to always meet at school in complete attendance. some had projects, some had interviews, some had applications, some did research. o god. can't even remember the last time we did not have anything to do at all. every day is always jam-packed with projects and activities. haha!

going back on that final prayer before the day of our defense, we gathered at mass comm lab. we were all there, actually not all but every group at least had one representative. hehe.

then, someone joked (as far as i can remember, it was kreng). she threw the copy of their final manuscript on the floor and asked that we pray over their thesis. we all laughed! haha! then, we all realized why not do it? why not compile everything in the middle and pray them over? and so we did it. haha! then, i suddenly realized we don't have a hard copy of our thesis yet. what to do? haha! my light bulb blinked! i went to the middle where the compiled manuscripts were and put my 512 MB flash drive!(haha, don't you try to belittle my 512 mb flash drive. it was my companion for the last four years of my stay in college. haha.) there's where a copy of our thesis was. haha! everybody laughed. then, the other groups who didn't have the hard copy yet just put their laptops and  flash drives there too. it only showed how desperate everybody was at that moment, how badly we all wanna pass.

that is how we really are. we always know to whom to turn to in times of need and to whom to give the glory after every victory. well at least, the desperation bloomed into a good outcome for everyone! haha!

ang babae sa septic tank, baby!

WINNER! two thumbs up!

'Ang Babae sa Septic Tank' is among the few Pinoy films that is really worth watching. no doubt they went home with many awards.  makes me proud to be a Filipino. it had been quite a long time since i saw a Pinoy film this remarkable. the plot was great and unique. it is something i have not seen in any other films. the attack on the subject of the film was different which makes it superb. it is basically about filmmaking and the different attacks you can use to make the film satisfy what you want or try to tell your audience. i love the movie within the movie,  'WALANG WALA'. haha.

i love the actors' acting. their portrayals are all so casual, the "no acting acting," or the "as is, where is acting" as they call it. they are so effective. :)

moreover, what made it more interesting for me is the fact that the story has something to do with my course. i was able to relate. it is so cool. i can remember ms. gerby when the actors were talking about the sequence treatment. haha. at least, i learned something from our class. haha! i find it really amazing.

these indie movies in our country are far better than most mainstream shits they show in cinemas. i wish a day will come when all Filipinos will see the beauty and brilliance of these indie films we have. i'm not generalizing here, but most people in the industry are only after the money, what they'll earn. hence, the quality is sacrificed. come on. that shouldn't be the case. is that how much we lord money? as what was said in the movie, we can also do something for the soul, and what you can give the soul can yield something that is more than just satisfaction. it is FULFILLMENT. 

HE really WAS COOL

watched this korean movie earlier. HE WAS COOL is very cute and light. i love how the tough and "untouchable" guy was eventually softened by the sweetness and cuteness of the girl. i love the guy's character in the story! i love how he is so possessive and so protective of his girl. haha. also, it is refreshing to see this  film. i am so done with all those movies of heartbreak and heartache. time for something new. HAHA.
